Position description

The Institute for Computational Health Sciences and the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of California, San Francisco, seek applications for an Adjunct (Full) Professor position. Specifically, we wish to recruit an experienced scientist who exploits recent advances in computational methods, such as machine learning and massively parallel computing, to the study of biology at the molecular scale (e.g., molecular biophysics, drug discovery). The direct application of computational methods to health data is outside the scope of this particular search.

Applicants must have a PhD degree; an established, dynamic research program; and a strong track record of obtaining external funding. Laboratory space will be in UCSF’s vibrant Mission Bay campus. The position can be configured as either full-time or part-time; it does not confer tenure, and is not supported by state funding.

UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.

Please visit https://aprecruit.ucsf.edu/apply/JPF01658 to apply for position. Applicants are required to submit CV, cover letter, and a statement of research which should include 3-5 representative publications and an outline of future research (no more than 2 pages) as part of the application process. In addition, applicants are asked to provide the contact information for three references.

Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period.

The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age or protected veteran status.
