UCSF FRESNO PSYCHIATRY FACULTY POSITION
Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Program

The University of California San Francisco Fresno Medical Education Program (UCSF Fresno) and Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System, Fresno (VA) are seeking candidates for a 1.0 FTE faculty position at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Program in Fresno. The VA is looking for a full-time academically oriented psychiatrist to work within the Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Program (SUDP). The SUDP is composed of an interdisciplinary team that includes addiction therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and psychologists, with oversight of the program provided by a medical director. The psychiatrist will be providing services to veterans who suffer from a variety of mental health conditions, including posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use, depression, severe mental illness and other related conditions. The SUDP is a cognitive-behavioral oriented program that utilizes motivational intervention techniques and interventions with relapse prevention medications and provides buprenorphine for opioid-use disorders.

As part of the UCSF Fresno Psychiatry Program, additional responsibilities will include supervision of psychiatric residents, fellows, and medical students on core and elective psychiatry rotations at the VA, participation in UCSF Fresno Psychiatry Grand Rounds, and didactic seminar series. Candidates must be either board certified or eligible in Psychiatry, California licensed or eligible to obtain a California license, and must have completed Psychiatry residency training.
